Over recent years, we have witnessed abnormally high hive losses around the world. This is a major issue—nearly one third of our food supply is dependent on bees for pollination! If bees disappeared, we would lose many wonderful fruits and veggies—such as almonds, apples, avocados, berries, squash, and tomatoes, to name a few.
And carnivores aren’t off the hook, either. Bees pollinate alfalfa and clover, which are the main types of feed for North American cows and other grazing animals. In fact, nearly 90% of wild plant species and 75% of global crops are dependent on pollinators. Bees singlehandedly provide $235-577 billion USD in economic value to our global economy annually. It’s safe to say our planet would take a serious hit if we lost our buzzing friends! It’s time to get involved, get informed, and save the bees!
